A significant upgrade to the capacity of the broadband supply in Templefields is now underway and will be complete in June of this year. This will provide businesses in the area with much faster download speeds and will be a major, and much needed, enhancement to business activity.
One of the UK Government’s offers for businesses locating in one of the country’s 24 Enterprise Zones was the promise of access to ‘Superfast’ broadband capability. This is now being rolled out by BT and because of the Enterprise Zone status of Templefields, this area has been seemed the number one priority for delivery in Essex. The work is now currently being undertaken with BT in the process of upgrading the telecoms cabinets in River Way and the surrounding area.
To explain what this means in practice for local businesses, BT will be bringing their Broadband Showcase to the area on Wednesday 7th May. If you want to find out what superfast broadband can do for your business in this area, come and visit the BT Broadband Bus which will be parked in River Way on 7th May between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
BT’s mobile fibre broadband showcase is a high-tech, specially adapted broadband demonstration facility that tells the story of how BT installs fibre optic broadband. The cleverly adapted vehicle includes all of the equipment used in the roll-out of fibre broadband including what you normally see – like the new green street side cabinets – as well as what you don’t – like how fibre optic cables are’ blown’ underground. Full explanation is given on how fibre reaches customer premises over BT’s open network as well as demonstrations on the benefits fibre broadband can bring to domestic and business consumers
