ITN produce film to promote Harlow Enterprise Zone

Harlow Enterprise Zone has worked with ITN and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) to produce a film designed to showcase the EZ as an opportunity and to highlight the attractions of engineering as a career. In this, we have been joined by Raytheon UK Ltd and Harlow College, both of whom feature in the film.
The IET are seeking to promote greater understanding of the central role that engineering plays in our society and economy. ITN were commissioned to produce a film to achieve this and spur recruitment into the industry, particularly amongst young people. Given the central role that engineering has played in the development of Harlow, and the future plans for the development of the Enterprise Zone, Harlow Council was keen to be involved in this.
The film features students at Harlow College talking about their aspirations including South East Apprentice of the Year Paige Tennison featured at her employer, Applied Scintillation Technologies. It also features Raytheon UK talking about why Harlow works for them as a location and Leader of Harlow Council, Cllr Jon Clempner, highlighting the benefits of the Enterprise Zone.
The programme emphasises the existing strength of the engineering sector in Harlow and the vocational training provision that is available to support this industry. The Enterprise Zone will then provide the space for businesses to grow and for new businesses to come to the town to continue the success story.
